William ArmstrongPOTTSBill Potts, born and brought up in Low Fell, Gateshead, and member of Gateshead Rugby Club died after a brave and valiant fight against cancer on 12th November in Surrey. He leaves a wife, Suzanne and adored and cherished daughters Alexandra and Georgia. He was very close to his brothers Andrew, who lives in Low Fell, and Michael who have been by his side throughout. A proud Geordie who never forgot his roots, with both daughters graduating from Newcastle University. Bill moved to London to join the Home Office in 1972 and had a successful career, respected by all who knew him. An outstanding athlete, he represented South London Harriers in the 400 metres. He was an avid reader, enjoyed watching rugby, gardening and fell walking in the Lake District.
